A senior officer of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), Deputy Director Muhammad Usman, who was reportedly abducted earlier this month, was investigating a major case involving popular YouTuber Saadur Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, officials informed the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
During the recent hearing, District Superintendent of Police (DSP) Legal Sajid Cheema told the court that investigations were ongoing to trace the missing officer. He revealed that the “missing deputy director was handling the Ducky Bhai case,” and alarmingly, “other officers involved in the same investigation have also gone missing.”
The case originated from an FIR filed at Shams Colony Police Station by Usman’s wife, Rozina Usman. In her complaint, Rozina stated that on October 14, four unidentified armed men abducted her husband at gunpoint near their residence around 7:30 pm. The men arrived in a white car before taking him away.
However, the situation took a further twist when Advocate Raja Rizwan Abbasi, representing Rozina, informed the court that she too had gone missing after filing the petition. According to DSP Cheema, Rozina’s last known location was traced to Empress Road, Lahore, before her phone was switched off on October 18.
Justice Muhammad Azam Khan, who is presiding over the case, expressed concern over the growing mystery, emphasizing that “the court aims to resolve the matter, not just set hearing dates.” He gave the Islamabad police three days to ensure Usman’s recovery.
At the first hearing on October 20, Justice Khan had warned that if the officer was not recovered promptly, the Islamabad Inspector General and NCCIA’s top officials would be summoned in person.
The court has now adjourned the case until October 31, giving authorities an additional week to locate the missing officer.
