Death Looms in Tharparkar: Malnutrition Claims Lives of 46 Children

In Tharparkar, 46 innocent children have died over the past three weeks due to malnutrition and various illnesses at the district headquarters hospital in Mithi, while 70 children are still under treatment.

‎According to the MS of Civil Hospital Mithi, the three children who died during the past 24 hours were under one year of age. Due to cold weather and malnutrition, these children were born underweight and were suffering from various diseases, and could not survive during treatment.

‎He said that the children’s ward has a capacity of 70 beds, while currently 76 children suffering from cold related and other illnesses are under treatment.

‎Meanwhile, parents of the sick children have said that there is a severe shortage of medical facilities in the hospital’s pediatric intensive care unit.
