Dengue Prevention Drive Intensified After Rainfall

Health authorities have intensified dengue prevention efforts following recent rainfall, which has increased the risk of mosquito breeding across several areas. Anti-dengue teams have launched extensive fumigation, larviciding, and sanitation campaigns to eliminate stagnant water and prevent the spread of the disease.

Officials urged residents to cooperate with health workers and ensure that water does not accumulate in containers, rooftops, tires, or other potential breeding sites. Public awareness campaigns are also being conducted to educate communities about dengue prevention measures.

Experts warn that warm temperatures combined with post-rain stagnant water create ideal conditions for the Aedes mosquito, which transmits dengue fever. Citizens have been advised to use mosquito repellents, wear protective clothing, and seek medical attention if they experience symptoms such as high fever, headache, body aches, or rash.

Authorities said surveillance activities have been strengthened and preventive measures will continue throughout the monsoon season to reduce the risk of dengue outbreaks.
