The district administration in Swat is set to resume its anti-encroachment operation along the Swat River today, following recent incidents and growing concerns over illegal constructions in the area.
According to an official report from the district administration, so far, 65 illegal structures have been demolished as part of the ongoing crackdown. These include shops, hotels, and parks that were constructed unlawfully along the riverbanks.
Authorities have successfully retrieved 15.7 kanals of land, clearing approximately 2 kilometers of the occupied area.
In addition, legal action has been taken against individuals responsible for establishing these encroachments. Police have registered cases against 25 people involved in the illegal constructions.
The administration has reiterated its commitment to continue the operation until all encroachments along the river are removed, emphasizing that such constructions not only violate land laws but also pose serious environmental and safety risks.
Locals have been urged to cooperate with the authorities and refrain from building any unauthorized structures along the river.
