Islamabad — The federal cabinet has approved the 27th Constitutional Amendment, marking a major political development in the government’s ongoing reform agenda.
According to official sources, the amendment includes several key changes related to administrative restructuring, resource distribution, and institutional coordination between the federation and the provinces. The approval came after detailed discussions among cabinet members, who reviewed the proposed clauses before giving their consent.
Government officials say the amendment aims to strengthen the constitutional framework and improve governance mechanisms across the country. However, opposition parties have expressed concerns, saying the government should have built broader consensus before final approval.
The amendment bill is expected to be presented in Parliament soon, where it will require a two-thirds majority for pa
ssage.
