Nankana Sahib, August 9: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore Zone has stepped up its efforts against human smugglers, arresting a central figure involved in human trafficking and visa fraud.
According to an FIA spokesperson, the suspect, identified as Muhammad Talha Latif, allegedly misled innocent citizens with false promises of employment opportunities in Dubai and Bahrain.
Officials said Latif, along with his associates, collected a total of Rs 1.65 million from multiple victims but failed to arrange their travel abroad. After receiving the funds, he reportedly went into hiding to avoid arrest.
During the arrest, FIA recovered 16 Pakistani passports from the suspect, believed to have been taken from victims as part of the fraudulent scheme.
Authorities have launched a detailed investigation and are conducting raids to apprehend the suspect’s accomplices.
