Federal Minister Mustafa Kamal has inaugurated the final nationwide anti polio campaign of the year 2025.

‎According to details, while addressing the ceremony, Mustafa Kamal said that the country has succeeded in reducing polio cases. Ninety nine percent of children in the country are vaccinated against polio.

‎This year, 55.4 million children will be administered polio drops. Last year, 74 polio cases were reported, whereas this year 30 cases have been recorded. More than half of Pakistan still has the presence of the polio virus.

‎He said that the virus is present in Peshawar, Karachi, and Lahore. To protect children from the virus, it is essential to ensure they receive polio drops during the campaign. The federal government is determined to completely eliminate the virus from the country.

‎He added that everyone must play their role. Out of the 30 polio cases, 19 have been reported from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Sixteen cases emerged from South Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
