The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially launched the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 trophy tour with a spectacular ceremony at Adam’s Bridge, the symbolic stretch connecting co-hosts India and Sri Lanka. The iconic location, known as Ram Setu in India, was chosen to represent the cultural and geographic bond between the two nations set to stage the global event.
The launch featured a visually striking moment as the World Cup trophy was lifted into the sky by a two-seater paramotor, set against the dramatic backdrop of India’s southern coastline. The unique aerial display marked the beginning of the countdown to one of cricket’s most anticipated tournaments.
In a statement, the ICC highlighted the significance of Adam’s Bridge, calling it a culturally revered landmark and a symbolic gateway linking the two host countries. The governing body said the trophy tour aims to bring fans closer to the tournament while celebrating the shared heritage of the region.
As part of the tour, the silverware will travel across several Asian countries, including India, Sri Lanka, Qatar, Oman, Nepal, Bahrain, and Mongolia. The journey will feature campus visits, fan engagement events, public activations, and cricket carnivals, offering supporters across the continent a chance to experience the excitement of the T20 World Cup ahead of the 2026 showpiece.
