After weeks of conflicting reports and mounting political chatter, India has officially confirmed its participation in the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, putting an end to speculation that threatened to overshadow the tournament’s buildup.

In a brief statement issued on Monday night, a top official from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) denied all rumors about a potential withdrawal, asserting that “Team India is preparing to compete in full force.” The announcement comes as a relief to cricket fans across Asia, especially those anticipating a high-voltage Pakistan vs India group match.

The Asia Cup, which serves as a key preparatory event ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, is scheduled to be hosted in a hybrid format, with matches set across Pakistan and Sri Lanka. While exact fixtures are still being finalized, insiders suggest the tournament could kick off as early as late August.

Meanwhile, players from across the region have begun early training camps, with most squads expected to be finalized by mid-June.

With India’s confirmation now official, the cricket world turns its attention back to the game — and to what is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated editions of the Asia Cup in years.

Stay tuned with Media Hyde for exclusive coverage, squad analysis, and behind-the-scenes stories as the tournament approaches.
