New Delhi – Veteran Indian actor Prakash Raj has strongly criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for maintaining silence over the civilian deaths in G@za caused by Isr@eli airstrikes, calling the inaction a “criminal silence.”
According to Indian media, Raj participated in a pro-Palestine solidarity gathering where he was seen wearing the iconic Palestinian scarf, a global symbol of resistance against Israeli aggression in G@za.
Addressing the event, Raj said that silence in the face of human suffering amounts to complicity. “When innocent children, women, and the elderly are being killed in G@za, remaining silent is also a crime — and Modi is guilty of that crime,” he remarked.
The actor further argued that India’s current government has failed morally by avoiding a clear stance on the issue. He also pointed to the role of the United States, accusing Washington of supporting Isr@el’s actions.
“Modi talks about making India a Vishwaguru (world leader), but when humanity is bleeding, why does he remain silent?” Raj questioned.
Expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people, the actor said he stands with their struggle not just as an artist but also as a responsible citizen. “The duty of an artist is not limited to performing on screen — it is also to speak the truth and raise a voice against oppression,” he added.
