Iran War Live: Trump Threatens Strikes, Iran Says It Has a Plan to Respond

Tensions between the United States and Iran have intensified after U.S. President Donald Trump warned that Washington is prepared to launch new military strikes if Iran continues actions that threaten U.S. forces, allies, or international shipping. Trump said the United States would respond with “very hard” military action if Iran escalates the conflict further.

According to U.S. officials, the White House is considering strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure and other strategic targets. While no final decision has been made, officials said military options are being reviewed as part of a broader strategy to pressure Tehran into accepting U.S. conditions for reducing regional tensions.

Iran has responded by warning that it has a comprehensive plan to retaliate against any new U.S. attack. A senior Iranian security official said strikes on the country’s energy facilities or other critical infrastructure would be considered a major escalation and would trigger a strong military response. Iranian leaders also insisted that the country would defend its sovereignty against any aggression.

The renewed exchange of threats comes after months of escalating hostilities across the Middle East. The United States accuses Iran of supporting attacks on commercial shipping and American personnel, while Iran rejects those allegations and blames Washington for increasing regional instability through military operations and sanctions.

The crisis has also raised concerns over the Strait of Hormuz, through which around one-fifth of the world’s oil supply passes. Iran’s recent actions affecting shipping in the waterway have increased fears of disruptions to global energy markets, causing oil prices to rise as traders monitor the situation closely.

Despite the increasingly hostile rhetoric, diplomatic efforts continue behind the scenes. U.S. officials say negotiations remain possible if Iran changes its position, while Tehran says it prefers a political solution but is fully prepared to respond militarily if attacked. No breakthrough has been announced, and the situation remains highly volatile, with governments around the world closely watching developments.
