KARACHI — In a bizarre turn of events, the Karachi police have uncovered a staged murder plot involving a prominent rice trader who allegedly faked his own death to deceive investors and escape a massive debt of over Rs 55 crore. The case unfolded yesterday when a partially burnt body was discovered inside a charred vehicle near Zero Point in Surjani Town. The car was registered to the businessman, Zeeshan Naz, and investigators recovered his wallet, Rs 45,000 in cash, his national identity card, and his personal mobile phone containing a pre-recorded video message clearing his family of any business liabilities. Furthermore, Naz’s wife formally identified the remains as those of her husband.

However, utilizing advanced forensic technology and biometric verification, investigators shattered the facade by identifying the deceased as Qurban, a resident of Muzaffargarh who had been missing for a long time. Police revealed that the perpetrators attempted to completely incinerate the body using a gas cylinder inside the vehicle, but the car’s air conditioning system prevented the fire from fully engulfing the remains, leaving vital forensic evidence intact. Following the shocking revelation, authorities took Naz’s wife into custody for questioning, as they launch a targeted manhunt to apprehend the missing trader who owes substantial sums to dozens of investors.
