LAHORE — At least 11 police officials, including a Station House Officer (SHO), have been booked and charge-sheeted following a major operational blunder where a raiding party mistakenly stormed the Lahore residence of the Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP), Mansoor Usman Awan. According to the Punjab police, the operational team possessed intelligence targeting a neighboring property but erroneously breached the AGP’s house instead. A First Information Report (FIR) has been formally registered against the officials for severely exceeding their legal authority. The AGP’s driver, Irfan, who filed the complaint, alleged that the Sarwar Road SHO scaled the main gate and led the armed personnel into the premises while only household staff were present. The complainant further accused the police of dismantling and confiscating the property’s CCTV camera system, later returning the digital video recorder (DVR) only after deliberately deleting the recorded footage of the intrusion. AGP Awan, who was attending an official meeting at the time, rushed back to the residence upon being notified of the ongoing raid. In the aftermath of the legal backlash, the implicated SHO of Sarwar Road police station has successfully obtained interim bail from a local court.
