Temperature May Ease Slightly from Friday, Says Met Office

May 29, 2025

KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast a further spike in Karachi’s temperatures starting today (Thursday), as sea breezes are expected to weaken over the next 48 hours.

Hot, dry winds from the west are likely to sweep through the city today and tomorrow, pushing temperatures up and creating heatwave-like conditions. Wind speeds may reach 35 to 40 kilometres per hour on Thursday, amplifying the heat’s intensity.

Daytime temperatures are expected to hover between 39°C and 41°C on both Thursday and Friday. May is typically one of the hottest months for Karachi, often placing it among the warmest cities in the region.

However, a slight drop in temperature is anticipated from Friday onwards, offering some relief from the sweltering heat.
