Karachi is witnessing a rise in gastroenteritis and various stomach-related illnesses during the ongoing monsoon season.

‎According to officials, Jinnah Hospital is receiving around 80 patients daily suffering from stomach ailments, while over 100 cases of gastro have been reported at Civil Hospital.

‎Dr. Irfan, Emergency In-charge at Jinnah Hospital, stated that gastro cases have increased by 20 to 30 percent. He attributed the spike to stagnant dirty water across the city and a rise in the number of flies.

‎Dr. Irfan advised citizens to avoid eating food from outside, keep food items covered, and drink only boiled water.
