Karachi is witnessing a rise in gastroenteritis and various stomach-related illnesses during the ongoing monsoon season.
According to officials, Jinnah Hospital is receiving around 80 patients daily suffering from stomach ailments, while over 100 cases of gastro have been reported at Civil Hospital.
Dr. Irfan, Emergency In-charge at Jinnah Hospital, stated that gastro cases have increased by 20 to 30 percent. He attributed the spike to stagnant dirty water across the city and a rise in the number of flies.
Dr. Irfan advised citizens to avoid eating food from outside, keep food items covered, and drink only boiled water.
