The University of Karachi has announced the results of its 2026 admission test, revealing a concerning pass rate of only 39 percent. Out of 7,226 candidates, merely 2,828 managed to qualify.
Most successful students scored between 50 and 60 marks, while nearly 29 percent achieved between 60 and 70. Only 263 candidates scored 70 or above, and just 20 students crossed 80 marks. Notably, no candidate scored above 90, bringing the top-tier percentage down to a mere 0.28 percent.
The test covered 20 disciplines, including Pharmacy, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Business Studies.
In a related development, the University of Karachi inaugurated the Centre of Digital Forensic Science and Technology (CDFST), Sindh’s first university-based digital forensic facility. The Rs308 million project, funded by the federal government through HEC, spans 38,000 square feet with modern labs, classrooms, and offices. Academic activities are expected to begin within a few months.
