Peshawar, April 14 — Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi held a series of meetings with senior political figures in the province to explore the formation of a united opposition front ahead of the upcoming Senate elections.

According to the media Sources, Governor Kundi met with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Amir Muqam and former Chief Minister Pervez Khattak at Khattak’s residence. The meeting began with condolences over the passing of Khattak’s sister, followed by informal discussions on the political climate, the Senate elections, and potential opposition strategies.

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman also visited Pervez Khattak to offer condolences. The interaction evolved into a conversation about regional politics and cooperation among opposition parties.

Sources indicate that during these exchanges, Governor Kundi proposed convening a joint session of all opposition parties in the province to finalize a coordinated approach, particularly in light of the upcoming Senate elections. The parties reportedly agreed to field joint candidates to challenge the provincial government’s dominance.

In a separate meeting, Governor Kundi and Maulana Fazlur Rehman also discussed the concerns surrounding the merged tribal districts (formerly FATA) and the performance of the federal political committee tasked with addressing the region’s issues.
