Jibran Nasir has accused Sindh Police of systemic obstruction in the Mir Raza Ali murder case, claiming authorities deliberately sabotaged the investigation to protect those involved.

The human rights activist told reporters that police officers systematically destroyed evidence, intimidated witnesses, and bypassed standard operating procedures to ensure the case stalled. Nasir argued that the failure to take action against the officers responsible for this negligence amounts to state-sanctioned impunity.

“The investigation wasn’t just incompetent; it was manufactured to fail,” Nasir said. He pointed to specific gaps in the crime scene processing and the unexplained disappearance of forensic samples that were initially secured by investigators.

For the family of the victim, these procedural failures are more than just bureaucratic errors. They represent a wall of silence. Nasir noted that whenever his team pushed for transparency, they were met with administrative delays and “missing” files.

The case has become a focal point for critics of the provincial police force, who argue that internal accountability mechanisms in Sindh are effectively broken. While the police department has maintained that the investigation is ongoing, Nasir dismissed these claims as performative, insisting that the officers who mishandled the initial evidence remain in their positions without consequence.

He warned that without an independent inquiry into the police conduct itself, the path to justice for the victim’s family remains blocked.

The legal team is now preparing to petition the High Court, seeking the suspension of the officers accused of tampering with the case files. Nasir made it clear: until those responsible for the cover-up face the law, the investigation is not just incomplete—it is compromised.
