Karachi- In a major crackdown against impersonators, police arrested six individuals posing as police officers in the Sahil Police jurisdiction late on the night of July 2, 2025.
According to the official police report, at approximately 1:30 AM, Sub-Inspector Akhtar Hussain and his team were patrolling the area when they received a tip-off about suspicious individuals dressed in police uniforms loitering in the area.
The police swiftly conducted a raid near Noor Hanif Mosque on Sahil Avenue in DHA Phase 5 and apprehended six suspects who were dressed in official police attire but were not actual law enforcement officers. The arrested individuals were identified as Shehryar Khan, Muhammad Rizwan, Yousuf Khan, Noor Faraz, Kashif, and Hammad.
During the initial investigation, the suspects admitted they wore police uniforms merely for amusement and to intimidate the public. Authorities seized three motorcycles from their possession, including Unique, Honda, and Star 70 models.
When asked to present police service cards, the suspects failed to produce any, leading to their immediate arrest. A case has been registered under Sections 170 and 171 of the Pakistan Penal Code, and an investigation is underway.
According to a police spokesperson, further inquiries are in progress.
