Modern modular operation theatres of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre have been formally inaugurated.

‎Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho attended the inauguration ceremony and officially opened the modern OT block.

‎Speaking to the media on the occasion, she said that operation theatres equipped with advanced machinery have been made functional in the gynecology ward, enabling the provision of prompt and quality healthcare services to patients.

‎Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho stated that OT and emergency services have officially commenced, while ICU services will also be launched soon. She further said that planning is underway for the establishment of a dedicated NICU unit for newborn babies.

‎The Sindh health minister said that treatment facilities for patients suffering from various diseases at Jinnah Hospital are being continuously expanded, and treatment in the gynecology ward is being ensured through modern medical equipment.

‎She further stated that a decision has been made to recruit more staff to address the shortage of healthcare personnel at the hospital, while some recruitments have already been made in recent months. In the past, certain individuals used to approach the courts against recruitment processes; however, the recruitment process has now been accelerated.

‎According to Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, the number of beds at Jinnah Hospital has also been increased, and efforts are being made to improve healthcare facilities in line with international standards so that patients can receive the best possible treatment. Reform efforts aimed at improving the healthcare system in Karachi are ongoing.
