KHANEWAL: A newlywed woman was allegedly killed by her father and three brothers in the name of “honour” in Khanewal, police said on Thursday.
According to police, the incident occurred in Chak No. 170/10-R, where the victim, identified as Iqra, had married a man of her choice three days before her death.
Police said Iqra’s father, Falak Sher, allegedly brought her back from her in-laws’ home on the pretext that her wedding departure ceremony would be held at her parents’ house. He allegedly took her home, where she was reportedly killed by her father and brothers.
Police arrested Falak Sher following the incident. A case was registered on the complaint of Iqra’s husband against her father and three brothers.
Authorities said an investigation is under way to determine the circumstances of the killing, and further legal action will be taken in accordance with the evidence.
