Pakistan and Canada have agreed to strengthen cooperation in the agricultural sector to boost productivity, technology exchange, and food security. The understanding was reached during a high-level meeting between officials from both countries held in Islamabad on Friday.
According to the Ministry of National Food Security, both sides discussed modern farming techniques, climate-resilient crops, and agricultural research collaboration. Canada expressed its willingness to provide technical support and expertise to improve Pakistan’s agri-economy, while Pakistan highlighted opportunities in dairy, livestock, and seed development sectors.
Officials from both nations emphasized that enhanced agricultural ties would open new avenues for trade, innovation, and sustainable rural development.
