ISLAMABAD- Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir on Saturday reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to fostering a peaceful, secure, and prosperous regional environment through deeper defence diplomacy and strategic collaboration.

Speaking at the Regional Chiefs of Defence Staff Conference held in Islamabad, COAS Munir welcomed high-level military delegations from the United States, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

Organised under the theme “Strengthening Bonds, Securing Peace”, the summit focused on expanding joint military training, counterterrorism cooperation, and tackling modern threats such as cyber and hybrid warfare.

According to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), participants discussed regional security challenges, the evolving geopolitical dynamics of Central and South Asia, and the urgent need for united responses to transnational threats.

“In today’s world, defined by complex hybrid threats, mutual trust and deeper military cooperation are vital,” said Field Marshal Munir. “Pakistan is fully committed to working with partner nations for collective security and regional prosperity.”

The participating countries appreciated Pakistan’s initiative in hosting the event and acknowledged its leadership in promoting inclusive and future-oriented defence diplomacy. They pledged continued cooperation to uphold sovereignty, counter extremism, and address new-age security concerns.

The conference concluded with a shared call for sustained strategic engagement, recognizing Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting peace and stability across the region.
