An encounter took place between the police and suspects near Malir Nadi, in the Aammi Colony area of District East during a routine patrol. The Aammi Colony police signaled two motorcyclists to stop, but the suspects opened fire on the police.
In retaliatory action, one suspect was arrested in an injured condition, while the other managed to flee the scene.
The arrested suspect was found in possession of one pistol with live rounds and a mobile phone.
The arrested suspect has been identified as Maqsood Ali, son of Badruddin, while the identity of the escaped suspect is confirmed as Saleem, alias Kala.
The arrested suspect was immediately shifted to a hospital for treatment.
