Punjab Govt to Recruit 12,000 Teachers to Tackle Staff Shortage

The Punjab government has approved the recruitment of 12,000 temporary teachers across public schools to address the shortage of teaching staff. With this addition, the total number of School Teacher Interns (STIs) in Punjab will reach 24,000.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has formally sanctioned the hiring plan, and the official advertisement for applications will be issued soon. The new teachers will be appointed on a four-month contract basis, with a salary of up to Rs. 45,000 per month.

The provincial education minister also confirmed that contracts of teachers recruited last year will be extended.
