Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif is set to expand the provincial government’s education initiatives by distributing laptops and Honhaar scholarships among students from two more districts, Rawalpindi and Attock. The announcement was shared by Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat ahead of the chief minister’s scheduled visit to Attock on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The distribution ceremony will take place at COMSATS University Attock.
During the ceremony, students from both districts will receive laptops under the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme, while eligible students will also be awarded Honhaar scholarships. The initiative is part of the provincial government’s efforts to support talented students, improve access to modern technology and provide financial assistance to deserving young people pursuing higher education.
Apart from the laptop and scholarship distribution, Maryam Nawaz is also expected to inaugurate modern Information Technology laboratories at four colleges across Attock district. These laboratories are intended to improve students’ access to digital learning facilities and provide opportunities to develop technology-related skills. The chief minister will also announce the launch of BS degree programmes at different colleges to expand higher education opportunities for students in the district.
The Punjab government has also planned to provide pink buses to various degree colleges in Attock to improve transportation facilities for students. The announcement reflects a broader focus on educational infrastructure, digital learning and student welfare across the province. Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat expressed hope that these initiatives would create better academic opportunities and help students access modern educational facilities.
