The Punjab government has approved the construction of 1,362 modern bus shelters to provide safer and more comfortable facilities for daily commuters. The approval was granted during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
Officials stated that 588 shelters are already under fast-paced construction, while tenders for 774 additional shelters have been issued. The provincial administration has set strict timelines of 45 and 60 days to complete the project.
The upgraded shelters will include improved seating, proper shade, and clean waiting areas. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed authorities to maintain high-quality standards, saying that commuters deserve dignified public transport facilities.
She expressed hope that the new shelters will enhance the travel experience for millions of passengers across the province.
