RAWALPINDI — In a major blow to militant networks, security forces eliminated 32 terrorists during comprehensive joint operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan over a 24-hour period, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Wednesday. Targeting the nexus of India-sponsored groups—designated by the state as Fitna-al-Khawarij (TTP) and Fitna-al-Hindustan—the military conducted intelligence-based area sanitization missions. Operations in KP’s Khyber district on July 28 and 29 resulted in the killing of 24 terrorists, while an intense engagement in Balochistan’s Nushki neutralized another eight militants. Security forces also recovered and destroyed heavy caches of weapons, ammunition, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly commended the bravery and professional capabilities of the security forces, emphasizing that the nation stands shoulder-to-shoulder with them in eradicating foreign-backed terrorism. The latest successful engagements come amid heightened security challenges in both provinces, following recent incidents such as Operation Shaban and Operation Al-Azm in Balochistan, as well as a foiled infiltration attempt in Tank. Military authorities reiterated that counter-terrorism operations under the ‘Azm-i-Istehkam’ vision will continue at full pace until the complete elimination of militant threats across the country.
