ISLAMABAD: Shifa International Hospitals has achieved a major milestone in Pakistan’s healthcare sector after its Shifa Ambulance Service became the country’s first ambulance service to receive Joint Commission International (JCI) Medical Transport Accreditation.
The accreditation recognises compliance with internationally recognised standards related to patient safety, emergency medical transport and quality of care.
The achievement is significant because emergency care does not begin only after a patient reaches a hospital. Professional ambulance services play an important role in stabilising patients, preventing complications and maintaining continuity of care during transportation.
The JCI accreditation therefore places greater emphasis on the quality and safety of care provided before a patient reaches a hospital.
Shifa has also secured JCI recognition for its wider healthcare network, reflecting efforts to maintain consistent quality standards across its facilities and services.
