Aligarh Institute of Technology students have come up with two world first-time innovations: a Smart Fuel Cap that turns out to be an accurate measuring container of the petrol that is filled at the fuel station and ADAS Helmet which is an alert mechanism that sends an immediate alert message to the family members with location details in case of an accident.
The gadgets were presented at a technology fair incorporating more than 280 stalls where the students innovated the technical oriented solutions.
The ADAS Helmet created by the hasnat akram, Muhammad Uzair Khan, Shoaib and Usman members of the electronics department is an in-helmet sensor to optimize accidents and generate emergency SMS messages.
In the meantime, the Smart Fuel Cap, which weighs PKR 1,200 in prototype version, would go down to PKR 500 to 800 with mass production. The two inventions are aimed at providing commoners with affordable and convenient technology in relation to the use of motorbikes.
