KARACHI: Two people were killed in separate firing incidents in the city on Sunday.
The first incident occurred in Nawab Colony, Baldia Town, where robbers shot dead a young man named Iftikhar when he resisted a mugging attempt. According to family members, the deceased worked at a mobile market and was the youngest among five brothers. He had left work early to attend a wedding ceremony when robbers intercepted him on the way. Upon trying to escape, one of the robbers fired a shot to his head, killing him on the spot.
Following the incident, tension gripped the area as residents demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits.
In a separate incident, a 20-year-old man named Abdullah was shot dead by unidentified assailants near the PSO petrol pump on University Road. Rescue officials from Chhipa shifted the body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
