RAWALPINDI — A harrowing video circulating on social media shows a car dragging a motorcycle for several kilometers along the busy Murree Road, with the rider desperately clinging to the vehicle’s bonnet to stay upright.
The footage, captured by onlookers in passing vehicles, shows the motorcycle wedged into the front bumper of a sedan. Despite the rider’s frantic gestures and the shouts of other motorists, the driver refused to stop, continuing to weave through traffic while the bike scraped against the asphalt.
The incident reportedly stemmed from a minor collision between the two vehicles earlier that afternoon. Rather than pulling over to resolve the dispute, the car driver attempted to flee the scene, trapping the motorcyclist in the process. For several minutes, the rider held onto the windshield wipers and the frame of the car, narrowly avoiding being thrown under the wheels as the sedan accelerated.
Rawalpindi police confirmed late Tuesday that they had tracked the vehicle and taken the driver into custody. A spokesperson for the department stated that a formal case has been registered, citing reckless driving and attempted murder as potential charges. The driver remains in police lockup for interrogation.
