Around 4,000 security guards working at government schools across Punjab have reportedly been dismissed from their jobs, leaving many affected workers facing financial difficulties. The dismissed guards staged a protest on Davis Road, demanding that the authorities restore their jobs.
According to reports, the affected employees also claimed that their July salaries have not been paid. They urged senior officials to intervene, release their pending wages and reconsider the decision to terminate their services.
The dismissals have raised concerns among the workers because school security guards play an important role in protecting students, teachers and school premises. The protesters called for an immediate resolution of the issue and reinstatement of the affected guards.
