KU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi described Dr. Baloch as a kind, sociable, and visionary individual who left an unforgettable mark on his friends, students, and the institution. Speaking at the event at the Chinese Teachers Memorial Auditorium, Dr. Iraqi praised Dr. Baloch’s political insight, compassion, and dedication to helping others succeed.

Professor Saleem Memon detailed Dr. Baloch’s life journey, from early education to career milestones, describing him as a courageous, supportive, and principled person. Dr. Baloch’s son, Hassan, shared personal reflections, highlighting his father’s adherence to strong principles and his encouragement to face life’s challenges with determination.

Former KU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Qaiser remembered Dr. Baloch as someone who never spoke ill of anyone and always showed respect to elders and kindness to juniors. Federal Urdu University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Zaabta Khan Shinwari described him as free of malice and a man of deep humanity, expressing disbelief at his passing.

A condolence message from Lyari University, shared by Dr. Maroof bin Rauf, noted that Dr. Baloch, as Vice Chancellor, personally paid the fees of underprivileged students and worked tirelessly for community welfare.

Several other KU dignitaries, including Dr. Zaeema Israr Mohiuddin, Dr. Samina Saeed, Dr. Nusrat Idris, Dr. Abu Zar Wajdi, and Dr. Mohsin Ali, praised Dr. Baloch’s scholarly contributions, administrative abilities, and warm personality, emphasizing that his impact would be remembered for generations.

Dr. Ramadan Baloch, one of Dr. Akhtar Baloch’s own teachers, reflected on his humble beginnings in a fisherman’s family and his hard-earned rise as a respected academic figure in Karachi. The session also included heartfelt remarks from other faculty members such as Dr. Tanzim Al-Firdous, Dr. Syeda Hurulain, Dr. Mustafa Haider, Dr. Saima Akhtar, and Dr. Akmal Waheed.

The memorial honored Dr. Akhtar Baloch not only as an educator but as a true son of Karachi, a man who touched countless lives with his sincerity, humility, and commitment to knowledge.
