Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif met with a high level delegation from the German institution, Hope Children’s Cancer Center, during which an agreement was reached on Germany’s assistance in the treatment of childhood cancer.

‎According to details, the delegation from Hope Children’s Cancer Center was led by German Pediatric Oncologist and Neuro-Oncologist Director Dr. Steffen Michael. Dr. Steffen Michael praised the efforts of the Punjab government for the treatment of cancer patients. On this occasion, Maryam Nawaz said that Punjab is the first province in the region to introduce ablation cancer treatment. She added that Punjab’s largest and most modern Nawaz Sharif Cancer Hospital in Lahore is rapidly nearing completion.

‎The Chief Minister further said that the assistance of Hope Children’s Cancer Center for cancer treatment at the Children’s Hospital Lahore will be appreciated. She welcomed the use of Germany’s modern technology for pediatric oncology and said that joint training with German institutions for cancer treatment will yield significant results.

‎Maryam Nawaz also stated that the Nawaz Sharif Cancer Hospital in Lahore is in its final construction stages and will be Pakistan’s largest and most modern hospital.

‎Parliamentary Leader of Heidelberg City Council, Waseem Butt, said that educational and cultural ties between Lahore and Heidelberg are being strengthened.
