Typhoon Bualoi’s Remnants Ravage Vietnam; Death Toll Climbs

At least 12 people have died as the remnants of Typhoon Bualoi swept through central Vietnam, unleashing torrential rain, flooding and landslides that damaged homes and infrastructure.

Rescue and relief teams are racing to reach isolated communities, while authorities have evacuated more residents and suspended flights in affected regions to prioritize safety.

Meteorologists warn of further rainfall in the coming days, which could worsen flooding. The country remains on high alert, particularly in mountain districts prone to landslides.

Vietnam’s government has mobilized the military and civil defense forces for clean-up operations, debris removal, and provision of emergency aid to displaced populations.

Officials say the storm’s impact underscores the ongoing vulnerability of coastal and interior provinces to severe storms, especially as climate extremes intensify.
