The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has issued new directives to universities conducting the Medical and Dental Colleges’ Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025, scheduled for Sunday, October 26.

According to the PMDC, all participating universities are required to conduct a pre-hoc analysis of the exam papers to ensure the accuracy of test questions and eliminate potential errors. This step aims to prevent issues such as out-of-syllabus questions or incorrect multiple-choice options, which have caused disputes in past MDCAT exams.

A total of 140,125 candidates from across Pakistan have registered for the nationwide test, which will be held simultaneously at 35 centers in Pakistan and one international center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The PMDC has also instructed universities to issue admit cards or roll number slips at least seven days before the exam to give candidates adequate time for preparation and verification.

Additionally, the council emphasized that the development, analysis, printing, and distribution of MDCAT papers must adhere to strict confidentiality and quality standards. The question papers are to remain sealed until opened in the presence of authorized witnesses.

Participating universities include the University of Health Sciences (Lahore), Sukkur IBA University, Khyber Medical University (Peshawar), Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences (Quetta), and Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Medical University (Islamabad).
