Karachi :Karachi’s Eidgah Police have arrested a suspect identified as Sameer alias PK, who is accused of hacking women’s mobile phones and social media accounts through malicious links. During interrogation, the suspect made several startling disclosures about his methods and motives.

Sameer told investigators that he acquired hacking links for only Rs5,000 from a Lahore-based individual. Using these links, he targeted women across multiple platforms—including WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook—by sending deceptive URLs that allowed him to gain unauthorized access to their devices. He then breached their Google accounts and extracted complete phone data.

According to police, the suspect admitted that after hacking accounts, he used victims’ personal information to coerce them into friendship and eventually pressure them into meeting him. He further confessed that despite having only completed his education up to grade seven, he learned these hacking techniques through an online group. Sameer also revealed that he had recently hacked the phone of a woman in Ranchore Line, after which he was arrested. He admitted to recording inappropriate videos of at least four women, which he kept for personal gratification.

DIG South Asad Raza stated that a special team has been formed to conduct a technical and forensic examination of the seized laptop and mobile phones. Officials from federal intelligence agencies and the Counter Terrorism Department are also assisting in the investigation.

Eidgah SHO Hafeez Awan reported that more than 450 inappropriate videos were recovered from the suspect’s phone. Initial findings suggest he allegedly exploited over 100 women. Sameer, a resident of Rabia City in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, lives with his mother and sister and is unmarried. Police say he frequently changed his statements, initially claiming to be an FA graduate.

Investigators said the arrest became possible after a woman from Ranchore Line, whose phone was hacked, informed her family and bravely agreed to set up a meeting with the suspect, enabling police to apprehend him with evidence.

Police added that the suspect targeted middle-class women by offering online earning opportunities and, after gaining their trust, sent hacking links to access their phones and blackmail them.

Authorities are coordinating with FIA’s Cybercrime Wing for further investigation, while digital data extracted from the suspect’s devices is being analyzed. Sources confirmed that investigators are also probing whether the recovered content was being sold on the dark web.
