Karachi: Shah Latif Town Police have arrested two suspected robbers allegedly involved in a series of mobile shop burglaries and recovered 37 stolen mobile phones from their possession.
According to the Malir District Police spokesperson, the arrests were made through technical surveillance. The suspects, identified as Waheed alias Blade and Hijrat alias Commando, were reportedly involved in armed robberies targeting mobile phone shops and street crime incidents.
Police officials stated that the suspects would hold shopkeepers at gunpoint, steal high-value mobile phones, and flee. A few days ago, the duo had allegedly looted more than 40 mobile phones from a shop in the Quaidabad area.
The spokesperson added that weapons, ammunition, cash, and 37 mobile phones were recovered from the suspects. Police are further investigating the criminal records of the arrested individuals and gathering information about their accomplices.
