Peshawar:The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted a major operation against drug trafficking in Peshawar, seizing a large quantity of hashish and arresting one suspect.
According to an ANF spokesperson, the force had been carrying out intelligence-based operations for some time against an organized drug trafficking network active in Peshawar and Bara. The group was reportedly involved in transporting narcotics from Peshawar to Malakand using various couriers.
Acting on credible intelligence, ANF officials intercepted a suspicious Suzuki Mehran vehicle near Abdara Cricket Ground on Railway Line Road in Peshawar. During the search, eight packets of hashish were recovered from a loudspeaker box concealed inside the vehicle.
Each packet weighed 1,200 grams, bringing the total recovered narcotics to 9.6 kilograms. The driver of the vehicle, a resident of Peshawar, was arrested on the spot.
ANF officials stated that a case has been registered against the suspect under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and further investigation is underway.
