Police arrested two female suspects during an operation led by the in-charge of Bibi Pak Daman, Syed Tahseen Gilani, along with his team, after tracing them through CCTV footage in the Shira Kot area.
According to police, the suspects were seen in CCTV footage forcibly snatching earrings from women. During the arrest, police recovered the stolen earrings and a mobile phone that had been stolen from the shrine.
Officials said stolen items worth approximately Rs 200,000 were recovered from the suspects. The arrested women, identified as Shabana and Mumtaz, are stated to be repeat offenders with previous involvement in theft cases.
Police have registered a case against the suspects and initiated further investigation.
SP Civil Lines Chaudhry Asar Ali stated that ensuring the safety of life and property of the public remains the police’s top priority.
