Pakistan Medical and Dental Council has declared unauthorized clinical practice illegal.
Pakistan Medical and Dental Council has written a letter to the Ministry of Health regarding the growing trend of quackery, in which the clinical practice of pharmacists, psychologists and dental technicians has been declared illegal.
PMDC says that quackery poses a risk of spreading HIV and hepatitis, and diagnosis and treatment are the authority of qualified doctors and dentists only.
Pakistan Medical and Dental Council stated that only registered doctors and dentists can provide allopathic treatment, and allied health professionals cannot prescribe medicines.
PMDC has declared such unauthorized practice a threat to human lives.
Pakistan Medical and Dental Council has also directed allied health professionals to immediately stop such practices.
