Kuwait Announces Phased Reopening of Airport, Flights to Resume from April 26

Kuwait has announced the phased reopening of Kuwait International Airport, with commercial flight operations set to gradually resume from April 26, 2026, following a temporary suspension due to regional security concerns.

According to officials, the country’s airspace reopened on April 23, allowing airlines and airport authorities to prepare for the resumption of passenger services. Initial operations will be limited, with flights operating from Terminal 4 and Terminal 5, primarily serving Kuwait Airways and Jazeera Airways.

Authorities emphasized that the reopening will be gradual and carefully managed, with a restricted flight schedule during the early phase. A full return to normal operations will depend on continued safety assessments, infrastructure readiness, and overall regional stability.

Airlines have begun coordinating the resumption of services, but passengers are advised to check their flight status in advance, as not all routes and schedules have yet been fully restored.

The move is expected to ease travel disruptions for residents and international passengers affected by the earlier suspension.

Overall, the announcement marks a cautious but significant step toward restoring normal air travel operations in Kuwait.
