Islamabad: Higher Education Commission (HEC) has issued a public warning against fraudulent degree attestation services, urging students, graduates, and citizens to remain cautious of unauthorized individuals and organizations claiming to offer attestation on behalf of the commission.
According to HEC, several fake agents and unapproved service providers are allegedly using the HEC name, logo, and branding to mislead applicants and collect money for degree attestation and document verification services. The commission emphasized that all attestation and verification procedures are carried out only through official HEC channels and authorized platforms.
HEC clarified that no private agent or third party is authorized to process attestation requests on its behalf. The commission advised applicants not to share their educational documents, personal information, or make payments to unverified individuals or websites claiming to provide expedited attestation services.
The commission further warned that engaging with fraudulent operators could expose individuals to financial losses, identity theft, and misuse of academic credentials. Students and graduates were encouraged to verify information through official sources before submitting applications or making payments.
HEC also urged the public to report any suspicious activity, fake advertisements, or unauthorized attestation services to the relevant authorities so that appropriate legal action can be taken against those involved.
