Islamabad — The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has rejected objections raised by the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) and directed textile mills to install surveillance cameras as part of its monitoring and compliance measures.
FBR officials stated that the decision aims to improve transparency, strengthen tax administration, and ensure accurate monitoring of production activities. The textile industry had expressed concerns regarding the policy, citing operational and privacy issues.
Despite the objections, the tax authority has maintained that the camera installation requirement will proceed, emphasizing its importance in enhancing documentation and reducing tax evasion.
