KARACHI: The body of young businessman Mir Raza Ali, who passed away under suspicious circumstances in Gulistan-e-Johar, is scheduled for exhumation on Friday morning at 9:00 AM as part of an ongoing police investigation, ARY News reported.

Authorities have constituted an eight-member medical board comprising senior doctors and forensic experts from Dow Medical College, Sindh Medical College, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, and the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee to supervise the procedure and conduct a comprehensive forensic examination. The board will be led by Prof. Dr. Naseem Ahmed, Head of Pathology at Dow Medical College. Officials hope the fresh examination will shed light on the exact cause of death and retrieve vital evidence.

The development follows a petition filed in a Karachi court by the victim’s father, Mir Hussain Ali, seeking the exhumation and a fresh post-mortem. Speaking to the media, Mir Hussain Ali voiced deep anguish and questioned the transparency of the investigation, specifically asking about the whereabouts of Dr. Osama, the medical officer who performed the initial post-mortem.

“Why is Dr. Osama, who conducted the post-mortem, missing?” he asked, expressing frustration that the family learned of crucial developments through media reports rather than police communication.

Accusing authorities of withholding information and failing to officially record the family’s statement, the grieving father insisted that his son was murdered. “I only want justice,” he said, adding that the family is already enduring immense trauma at the prospect of reopening their son’s grave. He further alleged that the initial post-mortem report was leaked to the media before being shared with the grieving relatives, fueling suspicions that key facts are being concealed.
