The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) has approved a threefold increase in MBBS seats at Bacha Khan Medical College (BKMC), Mardan, providing more opportunities for students seeking admission to medical education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Following the approval, the college’s MBBS seat allocation has increased from 50 to 150 seats. The decision is expected to expand access to medical education and help increase the number of doctors being trained in the province.
The increase comes as Pakistan continues efforts to expand medical education capacity and address the growing demand for qualified healthcare professionals. The PM&DC maintains official seat allocations for recognized public medical colleges across the country.
The additional seats at Bacha Khan Medical College will provide more students with the opportunity to pursue an MBBS degree and contribute to strengthening the healthcare workforce in KP.
