ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced a reduction in petrol and high-speed diesel prices, offering relief to consumers from Tuesday, October 20. Petrol will become cheaper by Rs5.16 per litre, bringing its new price to Rs381.14, according to the details provided in the Petroleum Division’s notification.

The price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has been cut by Rs7.69 per litre to Rs389.27. Before the latest revision, petrol was selling at Rs386.30 per litre, while high-speed diesel was priced at Rs396.96 per litre.
The price adjustments have been made under the government’s petroleum pricing mechanism, which allows domestic fuel rates to reflect changes in the international oil market.
Under the daily pricing framework, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) determines ex-depot prices using the average international rates recorded over the preceding seven days.
The revised prices will take effect on Tuesday, October 20, according to the supplied notification details.
