The Indus River has reached a medium‑level flood at Taunsa Barrage, while nearby Tarbela, Kalabagh, Chashma, Guddu, and Sukkur barrages continue to register low‑level flood flows, authorities confirm.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s Flood Forecasting Division, as of 27 July 2025, the Indus River is experiencing a medium‑level flood at Taunsa Barrage, a stark contrast to low‑level flooding at Tarbela, Kalabagh, Chashma, Guddu, and Sukkur .

No high or exceptionally high flood levels have been detected; all other major rivers are flowing within normal limits .

This situation is part of the broader 2025 Pakistan floods, driven by intense monsoon rainfall and glacial melt, which have swept through Punjab, Sindh, KP, Balochistan, and Azad Kashmir since June. The floods have claimed over 200 lives, injured hundreds, and caused widespread damage across affected regions .

The Flood Forecasting Division has issued warnings of more spells of monsoon precipitation between 28–31 July, possibly pushing flood levels higher in vulnerable catchments .
